Your Partner for Surface Repairs to Glass and Metal Framework
Working with project managers, site teams, business owners, quantity surveyors and homeowners, we strive to solve your problem by providing excellent service, high quality workmanship, all in a timeframe that works for you, and typically at a fraction of the cost of replacement.
Although the name may lead you to think we are from the USA, in fact, we are a UK employee-owned company, operating out of our Head Office in Rochester, Kent. You can read up on why the name of Chicago Glass was chosen for the business in Our Story.
We operate all over the UK. Our technicians come to you, there is no need for your glass or metal framework to come to our Head Office.
To secure the jobs and future of its staff, GlasWeld Holdings, which included Chicago Glass, was handed over to an Employee Trust in October 2020. During the handover, Alan Button thanked everyone for helping with the growth and success of the companies for their contribution over the years. He hoped that by setting up the Employee Trust, it would generate the security for everyone involved in the business and would reward them for their endeavours in the future.
Why the name Chicago Glass?
Chicago Glass was set up specifically to address a fast-growing form of vandalism spreading across the UK, which had spread across from the USA. Vandals were scratching their “tags” (graffiti) into glass shopfronts and bus/train windows in the knowledge that this type of damage was permanent and the only way to get rid of it was to replace the glass.
As Chicago was known as the hot bed for this graffiti; it was incorporated into the Company name. Today, we repair and restore many types of damages to glass, read on to learn more.

Training QualificationsAt Chicago Glass we try and ensure the work we do has positive outcomes for society and our environment. Our core service is to provide customers across all industries with an alternative option to replacement. By restoring the product and extending its life span, we are helping reduce landfill waste (in our case, damaged glass and metal frameworks). We also look for other ways to reduce our impact on the environment, such as vehicle emissions, reducing paperwork levels, and reducing indoor air pollutions with the help of office plants.
