Professional Weld & Grinder Spatter Removal Service, let us restore your glass
We offer a professional service to remove the metal particles and then take away the left marks on the glass (glass polishing as it is sometimes referred too); this service is an alternative solution to glass replacement.
The amount of spatter leaving spots, slag, pits or sparks in the glass can be reduced by changing techniques and equipment, but, regrettably, there are still those occasions where the particles cause damage to the surface, such as glass, which is within close proximity.
Searching the internet, or speaking with others, may bring up several options for removing spatter from the glass, from soaking the glass in acetone, using wax remover, scrubbing the particles with a brush, and of course our service – polishing the glass.
We highly recommend that if you have weld or grinder spatter/splatter on your glass, that you complete the first stage of our process - chemically cleaning the glass, as soon as possible.
This will stop the metal oxidising/rusting, which leads on to rust marks seeping down the glass and etching into it over time, due to cleaning and weathering.
We generally attend site and undertake the removal as a complete two-stage process, but we can offer the initial stage in our process as a standalone option.
We use a two-stage process to remove weld and grinder spatter/splatter to achieve clear glass.
The first stage involves the removal of all the metal particles embedded in the glass and then chemically cleaning the damaged area to remove any remaining metal oxides, burn marks, slag or stains. This leaves the glass with small white frosted dots where the hot metal has burnt into the surface.
The second stage is to remove these frosted dots by abraiding the surface of glass to the bottom of the dots and then polishing clear with a compound, to leave the result of clear glass.

It will be helpful to know the proximity of the person working to the glass, the size of area that has been affected, and if the dots are clustered or are sparser across the panel.
